Improving mental health

Improving mental health is a Southern Mallee Shared Priority across the three LGA Partnership Action Plans. Mental Health (prevention and access/integration) is a priority within the SMPCP Strategic Plan 2017-2021.

Submission made to Royal Commission into Victoria's Mental Health System.

Southern Mallee Primary Care Partnership recently made a submission to the Royal Commission into Victoria's Mental Health.  A copy of our submission is now available on the Royal Commission's website.   All published submissions are available on the site, and can easily be searched for, and accessed with the ability to download, and reprint or used by any interested parties.  Please click here for the SMPCP submission.

SMPCP Mental Health & Related Services (Eligibility & Entry Criteria) Resources 

Southern Mallee PCP Mental Health and Related Services (Eligibility and Entry Criteria) Resources – Buloke, Gannawarra and Swan Hill have been reviewed and updated as of October 2019. 

The professional only resources are available for use by service providers who work in and support residents across the Southern Mallee catchment. The resources are available on the following links;

 

The Southern Mallee PCP Mental Health and Related Services (Eligibility and Entry Criteria) Resources have been in existence from 2010 and continue to be valuable in identifying mental health and supporting services available in the Southern Mallee as well as identifying service gaps, evidence for advocacy efforts regarding mental health supports and as a basis for agency connection.

Building Socially Inclusive Rural Communities: A complete resource is a evidence-informed resource, developed collaboratively by the Loddon Mallee Region Primary Care Partnerships (PCPs) and their members, which aims to build socially inclusive communities across the region and beyond. The resource provides information and ideas for translating the evidence and principles of rural social inclusion into actions that people can understand and apply in their own rural community, sector or setting. The informative package will facilitate the discussion of rural social inclusion throughout planning, implementation and evaluation processes and across a diverse professional audience.The package includes information and personal stories from communities across central and northern Victoria that have successfully addressed social exclusion.
