Preventing family violence

Preventing family violence is a Southern Mallee Shared Priority across the three LGA Partnership Action Plans. Family violence (prevention and access/integration) is a priority within the SMPCP Strategic Plan 2017-2021.

SMPCP Family Violence Prevention Matrix

This Matrix provides an outline of key plans, evidence, frameworks and initiatives relating to the prevention of family violence in Victoria, including Change the Story: A shared framework for the primary prevention of violence against women and their children, The Loddon Mallee Action Plan for the Primary Prevention of Violence Against Women and initiatives such as Respectful Relationships and the Southern Mallee Victoria Against Violence 2017 Campaign.

The Promoting Gender Equity in the Swan Hill District – Swan Hill District Gender Equity Network Guiding Document provides guidance to move us forward into a more gender-equitable community. Recently established, the Network has a long way to go, and acknowledges that we are still learning. We also acknowledge that changes in attitudes and behaviours require a long term approach.

SMPCP Family Violence Prevention Workshop Project

Southern Mallee PCP was successful in gaining $8,000 funding from Women’s Health Loddon Mallee for the Standing Strong; Safe Communities for Women Project Action Group to prevent violence against women. For more information click here.

Southern Mallee PCP Buloke Family Violence Prevention Project

Southern Mallee PCP welcomed State Government funding of $140,000 towards family violence prevention project in the Buloke Shire. More information here.
